Outlook 2007

If you have a Pobox Basic or Pobox Plus account, please visit this page to find instructions on how to set up your email application.

To use Pobox Mailstore with Outlook 2007, follow these steps:

    • Select Account Settings from Tools.

Select Account Settings

    • From the Account Settings page, select the Email tab, then click "New".

Create New Account

    • From the Choose Email Service page, select Microsoft Exchange, POP, IMAP, or HTTP.

Choose Email Service

    • On Auto Account Setup, enter:

      • Your Name: Your Name
      • Your e-mail Address: youraddress@pobox.com (any of your Pobox addresses)
      • Password: Your Pobox password
      • Retype password: Retype it.

At the bottom of the screen, select Manually configure server settings or additional server types, and then click Next.

Auto Account Setup

    • On the Internet Email Settings page, enter:

      • Your Name: Your Name
      • E-mail Address: youraddress@pobox.com (any of your Pobox addresses)
      • Account Type: Select IMAP
      • Incoming mail server: mail.pobox.com
      • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.pobox.com
      • User Name: Your Pobox address
      • Password: Your Pobox password

Internet Email Settings

    • Click Next, then Finish to set up the account.

    • Returning to the Account Settings page, select the account you just set up, then click Change.

Select Account

    • In the Internet E-Mail Settings window, go to the Outgoing Server tab. Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".

Select Account Settings

    • Go to the Advanced tab. Select the dropdown menu next to "Use the following type of encrypted connection:" beneath Incoming Server (IMAP) and choose either SSL. Please do the same with the dropdown beneath Outgoing server (SMTP).

 

Click OK, then Close. You are done setting up Outlook 2007 to send and receive Pobox mail.
