To begin, open your Mailbird client where you will be prompted to "add account".
Enter the following:
Your name: This should be the name you would like to see on your mail account.
Email: Your full Pobox email address, or your full personal domain address
Click "Continue" when you're done.
Mailbird will try to identify the mail settings for your account and should prompt you for your password.
The password you should enter is your Pobox account password or your application specific password if you have two-step verification enabled.
Click "Continue"
You will then have the option to select the layout of your mail client as well as the theme. You can select whatever you prefer.
Click "Continue" when you're done.
Next, you can select which accounts you would like to be integrated with Mailbird. For these instructions, we're only adding our contacts, so we selected that box.
When done, click "Continue".
On the next screen you will you should receive a "Setup Completed" notification where you can click "Close" to be redirected to your inbox.
To confirm that your settings are configured correctly, click the menu button in the very top left of the screen and click "Settings" towards the bottom of the menu that appears.
Next Click "Accounts" and when viewing your accounts, select the account you wish to edit and click the "Edit" button to the right of your account.
On the next screen, you can confirm that your settings are as follows:
Incoming server
Server name: mail.pobox.com
Port: 993
Encryption: SSL/TLS
Username: Your full Pobox email address, or your full personal domain address
Password: Your Pobox account password or your application specific password if you have two-step verification enabled.
To confirm or edit your outgoing mail server, please click "Edit identity" and outgoing server.
On the next window confirm that your settings are as follows:
SMTP server: smtp.pobox.com
Port: 587
Encryption: STARTTLS
Username: Your full Pobox email address, or your full personal domain address
Password: Your Pobox account password or your application specific password if you have two-step verification enabled.
Click "Test Connection" to confirm that everything is configured properly and after the test is complete, click "OK".
After you click "OK" your mail account should be successfully configured and you should now be able to send and receive mail using your @pobox.com address or an address at your personal domain.
