Mac Mail OS Sierra

To begin, open Mac Mail and go to preferences.


In the following window, click on the "+" in the bottom left corner:


The next screen will provide you with a list of options. Select the last option, "Add Other Mail Account" and click on "Continue":

On the next screen, enter the following information:
  • Name: The name you want to appear in messages
  • Email Address: Your full Pobox email address, or your full personal domain address
  • Password: Your Pobox password, or your application specific password



****If you do not see this next screen during setup, please skip the next two screenshots.

If you do see this screen with the error message "unable to verify account name or password"  Please enter:

Email Address: Your full Pobox email address, or your full personal domain address

Username: Your full Pobox email address, or your full personal domain address 

Incoming Mail Server: This is the incoming mail server for your forwarding address

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.pobox.com

Click "Sign In" to have your email account configured



After clicking "Sign in" you should see the next screen.  You can allow your new account to use the Notes app or not.

You will be redirected to the configuration settings of your email account.  Please make sure your settings match the same configuration settings shown in the below screenshot.

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP): 

User Name: Your Forwarding address

Password: Your forwarding address password or your application-specific password.

Host Name: Incoming server of your forwarding address

Uncheck the box next to "automatically manage connection settings".

Port: 993

Authentication: Password

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):

User Name: Your full Pobox email address, or your full personal domain address 

Password:  Your Pobox account password or your application specific password

Host Name: smtp.pobox.com

Uncheck the box next to "automatically manage connection settings".

Port: 587

Authentication: Password

Click "Save" when complete
