Setting up Outlook 2013 for Windows with a Pobox Mailstore account
Please note, if you do not have a Pobox Mailstore account, you should not be using these instructions. Please refer to the settings for a Pobox Basic/Plus account.
To being, click on "File" located in the top left hand section of the screen:
On the following page, click on "Add Account":
On the next page, you will need to enter your account information. Enter the following:
- Your Name
- Your Pobox Email Address
- Your Pobox Password
- Re-enter your Pobox Password
Afterwards, make sure you click on the option "Manual setup or additional server types", followed by Next:
On the next page, select the option "POP or IMAP", then press Next:
On the next page, you will need to enter your server information.
For your Incoming mail server, enter mail.pobox.com.
For your Outgoing mail server, enter smtp.pobox.com.
For the Logon Information, enter your full Pobox address, as well as your Pobox password.
After all that information is full, click on More Settings in the bottom right hand corner:
On the next page, be sure to click on the check box "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication". Also, make sure the option "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected.
Before clicking OK, please click the "Advanced" tab and set the outgoing server encryption to "TLS" and then click "Ok".
After pressing OK, you will be brought to the previous page. Press OK on that page to continue. Outlook will start a test. If the test are successful, you will see this:
If the tests fail, please go back and confirm that your username and password are correct. After the test succeed, press "Close". You will see a confirmation page indicating that you're finished!
Click on Finish to read your Pobox mail in Outlook!
